When you see an image like this;

• In who’s eyes is this not barbaric?
•  In who’s hearts is there not a breaking pain?
• In who’s brain do you not question?
• In who’s body do you not physically feel angry and overwhelmed ?
• On who’s deaf ears do the pleas to liberate fall? 

…A breastfeeding mother who loves her young and wants to tend to them with physical comfort is not so different from how human mothers love and care for their own. Ok, they don’t use words to show their love and protection, nor do they buy nappies and make up Formula… But caring for her babies like this (pictured above) was never in natures plan. It was the mastermind of human profit and the lack of regulations enforced, thereby allowing us freedom to take away an animals dignity, and sense of any safety that animal was ever meant to feel. Which in today’s world, as we have allowed it in a sense to become, no one, animal Or human is guaranteed.

Ignorance is bliss. But turning away because you can’t look, does not make injustice (in all life forms) go away.

Animal welfare acts need to be seriously updated. Sow Breeding systems are cruel, barbaric and beyond inhumane. These pigs cannot even turn around in these so called “gestation crates”. They lie in them for up to 3 months solid at a time…

This attrocicous practice gives me a headache thinking about how it is still today, accepted in our society and agriculture.

As of 2015, it will be illegal to use sow crates on New Zealand pig farms.
