Intensive Pig Farms and Sew Crates are one of the many, most hideous processes we do to living animals. And people have the lack of knowledge to make comments like “its the circle of life”
Its not about the meat consumption as much as it is about the Living animal to meat on your plate processes that are still aloud to continue that is so frustrating and upsetting.

Harling Farm (uk) Exposed

If you eat meat fine, If you don’t eat meat fine too. But whatever your views, or reasons for either, the phrase “its the circle of life” is one of my pet peeves and one of complete ignorance , especially with regards to such sickeneing horrific abuse as this …..Most people choose not to eat meat for reasons such as the following, there is nothing “circle of life zzzz” about that. (and obviosuly not all farmers would even think nor consider treating their livestock with such horrific, devasatingly, sickening abuse) But unfortunately, too many farms do…
"Geoff grabbed the handle from the gate as usual and smashed it over the head of one of the sick piglets. It took him several blows before he finally cracked the skull, sending the animal into spasm. He then shouted at me to help him throw the animal into the dead bin. It took me a few seconds to react as I just cannot get used to him doing this.
The blood was pumping out of the animal’s head, and pieces of brain. I got hold of the leg and the blood went all over my boots, the floor and the dead bin. As soon as the piglet was inside the bin, Geoff put the lid on and walked away. I could still hear the piglet kicking and desperately squealing. Once again I felt frustrated and unable to help.”

When you see an image like this;
In who’s eyes is this not barbaric?
 In who’s hearts is there not a breaking pain?
In who’s brain do you not question?
In who’s body do you not physically feel angry and overwhelmed ?
On who’s deaf ears do the pleas to liberate fall?
…A breastfeeding mother who loves her young and wants to tend to them with physical comfort is not so different from how human mothers love and care for their own. Ok, they don’t use words to show their love and protection, nor do they buy nappies and make up Formula… But caring for her babies like this (pictured above) was never in natures plan. It was the mastermind of human profit and the lack of regulations enforced, thereby allowing us freedom to take away an animals dignity, and sense of any safety that animal was ever meant to feel. Which in today’s world, as we have allowed it in a sense to become, no one, animal Or human is guaranteed.
Ignorance is bliss. But turning away because you can’t look, does not make injustice (in all life forms) go away.
Animal welfare acts need to be seriously updated. Sow Breeding systems are cruel, barbaric and beyond inhumane. These pigs cannot even turn around in these so called “gestation crates”. They lie in them for up to 3 months solid at a time…
This attrocicous practice gives me a headache thinking about how it is still today, accepted in our society and agriculture.
As of 2015, it will be illegal to use sow crates on New Zealand pig farms.
